Pittsburgh Defense play of the week against the lowly Browns Thursday night on NFL Network. "TGIT" indeed! Guess they needed that vital Western PA demographic!

Yeah, I got the Pittspuke D on my money league team.  Playoffs will be determined this week.  The "Stillers" Defense should carry the day for me.  Need to at least split [we play 2 opponents per week during regular season].  Yet, even though I have FFB "juice" on this week's match-up, I can't help but think, "Oh, when will the horror end for Browns fans??"

Giving Thanks for A-Rodg & Sanchez & Beanie! Plus Fantasy Index League Update

Money League playoffs approaching after these next 2 weeks.  We're playing 2 games per week so with 4 games left, I'm just 1 win from Wildcard, 2 from Divison lead.  Thanksgiving blessings this week for Aaron Rodgers, Mark Sanchez, and Beanie Wells!

Musical Running Backs--Don't listen!

comments (0)
Posted by admin under Awesome
The dreaded RBBC situation is a reality with many teams playing musical Running Backs.  The musical RB situation in GB is interesting as Kuhn seems to be the goal line guy, although Starks is not bad as a runner, despite his seeming lack of field smarts on display last Monday night. Both are a reach as starters, a flex play more likely, and Grant is odd man out.  Meanwhile, down in the Big Easy, they have 4 RB's and Sproles is alternating good weeks and looks like a good play during home games only.  Washington stinks, Helu is marginal,  Still not a Ryan Mathews fan, Tolbert far more productive. New England's running attack is a Brady scramble and a pass to the TE.  Keep an eye on the carousel-to-be in Big D, as Felix "Twinge" Jones is allegedly healthy and due to his shared Razorback pedigree with Owner Jerry Jones will vulture carries from the very productive DeMarco Murray.  KC's backs are inconsistent--all 3 of them. The best RB's in Denver & Carolina are Tebow & Newton. The Lions are a mess without Jahvid Best, neither RB has emerged.  The conclusion is to avoid RBBC and not listen to the music, but if I must choose, I'd go with Tolbert and Sproles.

NFL & Fantasy Football's #1 Pick? Cam's STILL The Man!

When asked about the draftee I was most proud of in the FantasyIndex.com Experts Auction League, my answer was Cam Newton.  My preseason opinion was that he would have high value as he would vulture rushing TD's from his RB teammates.  With 7 rushing TD's already and an incredibly fast start in yards passing, while resurrecting the fantasy value of Steve Smith, Newton has become a must-play #1 starter.  Yes, I predicted the rushing TD's, but never did I foresee his tremendous production as a passer.  There was never a question about his arm strength, but there was certainly apprehension as to his accuracy.  As the NFL's first pick, so should he be the #1 pick in any fantasy football dynasty situation.

No bye week issues so far, as having depth at RB & WR pays off big time.  Big words after just 5 weeks, but so far Aaron Rodgers and the boys have been doing their thing--duh, winning!!  So far, I'm still #1 in FantasyIndex.com Expert's Auction League.  We play 2 opponents per week in my main money league, so 8-2 is good enough to lead my division.

My friend in New Mexico was checking in with me on a myriad of topics, but as we always get around to Cleveland sports, he asked what's up with the Browns this week--they're playing an improved Raiders team, on the road to boot in the Black Hole, plus add in it's Oakland's first home game since Big Al's passing.  The recipe seems to call for a steady diet of Bicep Boy Peyton Hillis, and pre-season Sleeper picks Greg Little & Evan Moore.  Oh, and scoring first to take the crowd down a notch wouldn't hurt either!

Cheeseheads Romp. Aaron Rodgers Fantastic, Fantasy Fanatics Rejoice!

Yes, the Browns were dismal in the real game.  But it's all about the fantasy games today.  Such a pleasure having Rodgers on my money team and my Fantasy Index team!  What a clinic he put on, with the Cheeseheads dishing out an old-fashioned butt-kicking today, and Denver supplied the butt!  400+ yds, 4 TD's passing, 2 TD's rushing.  Keep it coming, Aaron, u da man!!

Just exactly what were the NFL players doing this off-season?  Would doing a couple of daily hurdler stretches been too much to ask for?  After just 2 weeks, the amount of pulls, tweaks, tears, and strains to a plethora of knees, hammies, ankles, groins, hips is piling up. I guess we all need to study matchups, plus a little orthopedics as well!

Hello Dallas, is Dez playing?  Probably, maybe, potentially, we're hoping, seeing improvement--we guess it will be a gametime decision.  Thanks Cowboys, you play on Monday--not helpful.

Oh, hey Beanie, thanks for tweeting that you're healthy--with your history of leg injuries, we believe you, right??

After 2 weeks, is it already time for last rites for the injury-plagued Chiefs & Colts?

Cleveland hosts Miami with Hillis ill, but it's Reg Bush's bad groin that will sicken 'Phins fans everywhere, including the Fin Invaders--80 strong--flying to C-Town for the game. Bush's groinal issues good news for the Brownies' crappy outside LB's.

It won't stay that way as the season goes on, but let's just gloat a little for this week at least.  Can't win 'em all unless you win the first one, right?

Cam out performed Rodgers and Hightower outpointed Adrian Peterson.  Steve Smith was the beneficary of Cam's coming out party, plus TE Rob Gronkowski and the NYJ Defense came up big, too.

C'mon Aaron & Adrian, you'd best carry your weight in Week 2! LOL!!

Aaron Rodgers, great start for my $ league, should have had a 4th TD pass! #fantasyfootball

Missed that 4th TD pass by 6 inches, then he should have faked to Kuhn and ran a QB draw--am I right fellow Rodgers owners?? The Pack looked like they could have passed on almost every down.  Let's hope it keeps up all season long!

Week 1 QB Battles--Freeman/Stafford, Big Ben/Flacco, Rodgers/Brees, but Schaub/Manning on hold #fantasyfootball

Posted by admin under Awesome

Freeman's at home outdoors, may win the battle this week, but Stafford is a stud in dome games so may be the better choice overall this year--provided he sheds the China Doll fragility label and stays upright this year.

Steelers have had Flacco's number, so in order to take that next step everyone talks about, Week 1 would be a good time to exorcise a few [black & gold] demons.  New Center for Joe this week, albeit a Pro Bowler, plus better receivers this year.

Still like Rodgers to best Brees, but I am hoping for Opening Night fireworks as I have Rodgers again this year in my main money league.

Schaub will just have to bide his time as the "good" Manning may have to sit out this first dance--and maybe a few more?

NFL.com: Jamaal Charles #4 RB & M. Vick #1 QB, T. Pryor to Raiders--Do U Care? #fantasyfootball

I could see Jamaal Charles as a top 10 back, but closer to #10 than #4--just one man's opinion.  I like A. Rodgers, Tom Brady and a few more before I'd take the high risk/high reward Vick.

So, Mr. Entitlement, T. Pryor, is a Raider...is he Jamarcus Russell 2.0 as another pundit stated? Or is he the stud in waiting like "Chucky" Gruden touts? Personally, I can't believe Seattle didn't go hard after him because, let's face it: is anyone going to draft ANY Seattle QB??

Colt McCoy's stock rising, ran multiple "Camp Colt"s during lockout, impressive last week against SB Champ Green Bay, led team to 2 TDs in 3 drives, now revealed meeting w/ Brett Favre for tutoring in Mississippi to discuss WCO, footwork, ball direction when under pressure, etc.  It all adds up to LEADERSHIP!

Load up on the Falcons, Cam's the Man, Go Browns, Bengals are Bungles, Lions Roar! #fantasyfootball

Look, Preseason Week 1 is a little too early to identify any trends...or is it?

I've been saying to load up on the Falcons since they drafted Julio Jones and their offense was in midseason form this weekend.

Cam Newton is going to vulture TD's from his RB's.  If Stafford stays healthy, and they get a decent back-up to Best [Harrison? Really?], the Lions may be leapfrogging over the Bears and Vikes.

The Brownies need to do the same thing; find a decent running mate for Hillis.  Former Packer RB Jackson is serviceable--nothing more--as an insurance policy for Hardesty's surgically repaired [?] knee.

Nice to see the Bengals in the hunt for Andrew Luck.

Larry Fitzgerald back to stud-hood, Tebow looks good but not to Fox, Follow me on Twitter & FantasyIndex.com #fantasyfootball

Selected to be an "Expert" again this year for Fantasy Football Index, mock auction draft Monday night, plus weekly input for "Ask the Experts".

Checking out some games and notes:

AZ:  Boy does Fitzgerald look good, but he needs a solid #2 WR to emerge or be acquired to take pressure off of him.  For now, they have to count on Todd Heap to help.  They gave Beanie Wells the ball 4 straight times in goal line...he didn't score though.  They are going to miss Hightower.  Kolb looked OK, scrambled a little too much.

Denver:  Their defense looked a little better.  Tebow looks like he did in college--ran with power, chucked a few good ones, was 6 out of 7 at one point, but Fox chewed him out for running away from trouble and extending a play--seriously.  Look, Tebow looks for primary receiver, if covered then he takes off.  Isn't that what makes him the player he is?  He's the better fit for Miami, not Orton.

Tenn:  Team ready to make Chris Johnson highest paid RB in league, he just needs to show up, but he says he hasn't been presented with anything.

Cleveland:  They will play regulars 1 qtr against GB, looking for LB & WR depth by end of camp.  WR Greg Little looks like a great Sleeper pick, Massaquoi lost his cast finally, but still in boot, Cribbs improving.  Hardesty looks like PUP is in his future--won't play Saturday.  Hillis needs some help, he wore down last 3 games in 2010.

Misc:  Cowboys look better, Raiders are in big trouble, Ravens & Philly played a dud, Jags looked helpless against Pats and Brady didn't play.

Offensive Rookies in Preseason Spotlight--Cam, AJ, Ingram, Julio J...and Greg Little?

Posted by admin under Awesome

How eager are we for football this week?  Since my home town of Canton got totally screwed with no HOF Game this year, this first taste of game action seems like it will never arrive.  With no first game to wet our whistle, I'm sure you're like me and are chomping at the bit to get a good gauge of this year's Rookie crop.

There's plenty to discuss, but I am most eager to see Cam Newton.  He may not do squat in preseason, but come the regular season, he will be very intriguing to see how many rushing TDs he'll vulture from DA Williams & J-Stew.  Could be nice #3 QB on anyone's roster, unless somebody jumps in and grabs him for their back-up.

Looking forward to seeing AJ Green, Julio, Jones, and--Sleeper Alert--Greg Little of the Browns in action this week.  Little looks like the only draftable WR for Cleveland this year.

Mark Ingram looks like Deuce McAllister reincarnated, but stronger.  Andy Dalton has a good non-pressure gig in Cincy.

There's a few more interesting Rookies, too, that are under the radar who may contribute big-time.  More on the subjects of Sleepers & Rookies for my subscibers!

Help for Foster, Raiders ship sinking, Broncos & Dolphins & Chiefs--oh my!

Nice move by Houston to swap out stud blocking FB's by losing a great one, but recovered by adding former Brown Vickers, a little more protection for Foster and his achy-breaky knee.

Not sure how losing your top 2 players due to disinterest or cheapness will help the Men in Black [& Silver] win more games, or any games...looking like the leader in the clubhouse for the A. Luck lottery in 2012.  McFadden's injury compounds their issues further.

Hey Denver, instead of trading Orton to the Fins, moving Tebow instead would allow Fox to keep the more accurate drop-back passer which he wants, and give Sporano the ultimate Wildcat QB, and perhaps nip the Henne sniping in the bud.  This is a deal that makes so much sense, it will never happen.  Furthermore, Miami has a beleaguered Owner who wants to hob-knob with the snobs and who doesn't want the beleaguered Coach, plus a beleaguered Coach who doesn't want the incumbent beleaguered QB.  Resullt: a B-League Team!  Parcells sure bailed at the right time.

Kinda like the Chiefs again--although they won't sneak up on anyone like last year--they have some very nice players with upside.

R-Moss retires, Eagles headed for SB46, Seattle headed for Luck [in '12!]

If R-Moss is truly out of football for good, there goes the last remaining active player from my Perfect Season roster--one of the greatest sleepers ever when I drafted him his rookie year. Will he stay out for good?  Dead presidents are powerful motivators for return & redemption if the injury bug bites, say in Arizona, Atlanta, Pittspuke, or N'Awlins.

I guess we should skip the 2011 season altogether and hand Philly the Lombardi trophy right now--isn't that right Rex? Bill? Lovie?

What league is Seattle playing in this year--California Penal?--looks like the A-Luck Lottery is their game plan this year.

NFL is back! So is FANTASY FOOTBALL!
